Sea Turtle Nesting at Rodos Palladium

Sea Turtle Nesting

A Rare and Beautiful Moment:

On the evening of July 24th, 2025, a truly rare and enchanting event unfolded on the shoreline just below Rodos Palladium Leisure & Wellness: a sea turtle came ashore to lay her eggs in the sand near the iconic Kallithea Springs area.

The nesting was first observed by some of our hotel guests, who quickly informed our trained team. Our staff responded immediately, securing and marking the nest according to the approved environmental protection protocols. Their swift and careful action ensured the safety of the nest while minimising any potential disturbance.

In line with our commitment to protecting local marine life, our team promptly notified the ALS-SOS rapid response network, a specialised initiative for managing marine wildlife sightings along the tourist beaches of Rhodes. This network was created through the collaboration of 🔗Common Nature and the 🔗Rhodes Aquarium – Hydrobiological Station – HCMR. Each winter, hotel teams across the island, including ours, receive training on how to handle such incidents responsibly.

We are proud of our staff for their outstanding response and dedication to environmental stewardship. This heartwarming moment reminds us of the incredible biodiversity that surrounds us—and the importance of protecting it.

A special thank you to the guests who witnessed this magical event and took photographs respectfully, without the use of flash, ensuring no harm to the nesting turtle.🐢

At Rodos Palladium, we are deeply committed to sustainability and the preservation of Rhodes’ natural beauty. Moments like these inspire us to continue doing our part for nature and our community.
