COVID-19 Travel Information Update: 25 May 2020



Dear guests and friends,

The whole world is living in an unprecedented situation. It is true that uncertainty, coupled with the imposed restrictions, make the daily life of many of us difficult. What is needed at this moment is patience and faithful adherence to the recommendations and guidelines of health professionals.

Our thoughts are with our fellow human beings who are suffering in those countries that are being impacted the most, with those who work in the front line and offer help to our fellow human beings, but of course also with the thousands of our guests and friends who have stayed with us in the past: We sincerely wish to you and your families to stay healthy. We are sure that we will soon come out from this ordeal as winners, healthier, but more than that stronger.

From our part, we would like to assure you that all our teams work systematically and intensively so that with the opening of our hotel we will be ready to welcome you. Below you will find the framework of health & safety measures we are ready to implement to ensure the health and safety of both our guests and our staff.  Our goal is to make your holidays at Rodos Palladium Leisure & Wellness not only unforgettable but also safe:

  • Continuous monitoring and strict implementation of the guidelines issued by the Greek National Public Health Organization.
  • Collaboration with an internationally renowned external partner (Ecolab, a world leader in hygiene technologies) to design and implement all health and safety measures within the hotel.
  • Staff training on a daily basis and systematic monitoring for strict adherence to guidelines.
  • High standards of food and beverage preparation in full adherence to the HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point System) in combination with strict hand washing and hygiene policies in all teams involved in food and beverage production.
  • Systematic daily disinfection at contact points of frequent use such as elevator buttons, reception counters, shared door handles, WCs, etc.
  • Hand sanitizers available in all public areas.
  • Strict room cleaning and disinfection protocols before each new arrival.
  • Provision of surgical masks and gloves to staff and guests where and when necessary based on the instructions of the Hellenic National Health Organization.

Below you will find useful information for those who already have a reservation for our hotel, but also for those who are currently evaluating to visit us.

***  UPDATE ON THE SITUATION
& DETAILED INFORMATION ABOUT NEW & EXISTING RESERVATIONS  ***

 

To date, the spread of COVID-19 in Greece, compared to various other European countries, is characterized as low. This is mainly due to the fact that from a very early stage the Greek Government implemented a series of strict precautionary measures which seem to have significantly reduced the spread of the virus.

According to the announcements of the Greek Government made on 20 May, Greek resort hotels are allowed to operate as of 15 June, however direct international flights to all regional airports (such as Diagoras Airport in Rhodes) will be allowed as of 1 July and only from countries with “good epidemiological characteristics”.  The list of countries will be announced at a later stage. A Covid-19 negative test will not be a prerequisite for entrance in Greece, however visitors may be tested at the airport on random checks.

As a result of the restriction of the direct international flights to Rhodes, our hotel is obliged to postpone its operation at least until 1 July. We will reach a definitive decision during mid-June given that by that time the Greek Government will announce the list of the countries whose residents would be eligible for entrance based on their countries’ epidemiological profile. Surely, the decision took into account the restrictions that currently exist in other countries in relation to international travel, but also the health and safety of both guests and employees.

We do understand that such a decision is unpleasant for many of you who have planned your holidays with us. Sincerely, we would like to assure you that it is equally unpleasant for us: We would love to be in a position to host you and offer you a memorable holiday experience. However, we are confident you will agree that it is important for all of us to follow the instructions and recommendations of the health authorities.

A. NEW RESERVATIONS MADE AFTER 1 APRIL 2020:

For new reservations to be made directly with the hotel (via our website, or phone or email) we have created a set of new relaxed cancellation and payment policies that will provide you with the ultimate flexibility to organize your journey stress-free. You can read them in detail here.

If you wish to book online through a Travel Agent or a Tour Operator please consult the terms and conditions of each Operator.

 

B. EXISTING RESERVATIONS MADE UP TO 31 MARCH 2020:

We recognize that some of our future guests may feel uncertain about their forthcoming trip. Depending on where you made your reservation, its type, and your stay dates, the following options are available. As expected, in case the reservation has been made directly with our hotel we have the possibility to provide you with the maximum flexibility:

 

B.1. DIRECT RESERVATIONS WITH OUR HOTEL
(VIA OUR WEBSITE OR PHONE OR EMAIL):

 

B.1.1 Non-Refundable Reservations
(i.e. you have already paid a deposit which is non-refundable in case of cancellation):

Despite the fact that your reservation is non-refundable, we provide you with the option to change the dates of your stay. Your new stay can be until 25 October 2020, or if you want even between 1 May – 25 October 2021. From our side we will NOT charge you any modification fee. Of course, if there is a price difference due to the fact that the new reservation will have a different rate, then the difference will be paid upon arrival.
If you do not know, or do not wish to commit from now for new dates, we will offer you a credit voucher, with value equal to your deposit you have already paid to our hotel. This voucher is provided in agreement with Greek Law (Article 70 / Greek Government Gazette No. 84 / 13-04-2020). You can use this voucher against the value of a new reservation. The new reservation can have a stay up to 25 October 2020, or even any date between 29 April – 23 October 2021. As a result, you will have the maximum flexibility to make a stress-free decision. IMPORTANT NOTE: We have already uploaded in our website our rates and availability for summer 2021. No increase has been made in our Summer 2021 rates (compared to those of summer 2020) for all reservations that will be made until 31 December 2020. Peace of mind guaranteed!

 

B.1.2. Reservations of the Package Offer with Dinner & Free Transfer 
(you have already paid a deposit of 50% of the reservation value):

Your reservation is quite flexible: You can change the dates up to 21 days before your arrival. We recommend that when your arrival date approaches (but at least 21 days before arrival) you contact us to explain you the options available at that time.

Ιn case you wish to change your plans, we will provide you with a credit voucher with value equal to the deposit you have already paid to our hotel. This voucher is provided in agreement with Greek Law (Article 70 / Greek Government Gazette No. 84 / 13-04-2020). You can use this voucher against the value of a new reservation for any stay date until 25 October 2020, or even any date between 29 April – 23 October 2021. B.1.3. Flexible bookings

When your arrival date approaches (but at least 21 days before arrival) you can contact us to present you the options available at that time. B.2.RESERVATIONS MADE THROUGH AN ONLINE TRAVEL AGENT
(e.g.  BOOKING.COM, EXPEDIA etc )

These reservations have specific cancellation & payment policies, often formulated also by the specific Online Travel Agent. For this reason, please contact the Customer Support of the Online Travel Agent through which you made your reservation. At the same time, depending on your reservation, we strongly recommend:

B.2.1 Non-Refundable Reservations
(you have already paid a deposit):

During your communication with the Customer Support, it is essential to mention that our hotel agreed to modify the dates of your booking although this is Non-Refundable reservation. Please ask them to send us a request for modification. We will approve it. In case you face any issue with your request, please inform us accordingly via email at reservations@rodospalladium.gr

If your reservation has been made through Booking.com or Expedia and our hotel has already charged your credit card, please let them know that in agreement with Greek Law (Article 70 of the Greek Government Gazette No. 84 as published in 13 April 2020) we will provide you a credit voucher with a value equal to the deposit you have already paid to our hotel. You can use this voucher against the value of a new reservation.  The new reservation can have a stay up to 25 October 2020, or even any date between 29 April – 23 October 2021. B.2.2 Flexible Reservations
(based on the terms & conditions of most OTAs you will pay a deposit a few days before your arrival):

In most OTAs your reservation is quite flexible: For example, in case you have booked with Booking.com or Expedia you have up to 21 days before your arrival to change dates, or even if you wish to cancel your reservation. There is no reason to rush. When your arrival date approaches (but at least 21 days before arrival) you can contact us to present you the options available at that time. Alternatively, you can contact the Customer Support of the Online Travel Agent through which you made your reservation. We have already uploaded our rates and availability for summer 2021 both in our websites and in the websites of our online partners. No increase has been made in our Summer 2021 rates (compared to those of summer 2020) for all reservations that will be made until 31 December 2020. Peace of mind guaranteed!

 

B.3. RESERVATIONS MADE THROUGH A TOUR OPERATOR OR A TRAVEL AGENT

These reservations have specific cancellation & payment policies determined by the Tour Operator and / or your travel agency, and which differ depending on whether you have booked hotel only or a package that includes hotel & flight. It is only the Tour Operator, or the travel agency, through which you made your reservation, that is in a position to answer your questions. Please contact their Customer Support.
